A Word From Our Pastor

July 2010

It is written in the Gospel according to Luke that there were two travelers walking along the road to a town called Emmaus. They were disappointed and saddened because of the events that had happened that led to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. They had invested themselves, as many others had and now were left with what appeared to them to be future that wasn’t bright at all. In some ways they had lost hope. Then Jesus comes on the scene they were unaware. Let’s go to the end of the story now. Recall the travelers’ response after Jesus
revealed Himself to them:

“And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread.” Luke 24:32-35

Whenever there is a change in leadership, it can be hard. It’s easy to lose sight of the One in whom we truly find our strength, our hope, our joy, and our being. But wherever Jesus reveals Himself, there is great hope for a bright future and joy unspeakable. I am humbled that God has seen fit to grant me the privilege of serving as Pastor and spiritual leader to you for the next several months. I am looking forward to seeing what our God and Father will do. Be of good cheer and be encouraged. I am confident that our hearts will burn within us too, as we walk together with Jesus! May God richly bless you.

In Jesus,
Pastor Norm
